Brittany King - Soprano
Canadian Soprano Brittany King made her debut with TORONTO OPERETTA THEATRE as Pitti-Sing in Gilbert and Sullivans' THE MIKADO. Other roles include Blanche from Poulenc’s DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES, First Touriere in SUOR ANGELICA/Puccini (Opera NUOVA) and from opera excerpts, OCTAVIA in L’incoronazione di Poppea/Monteverdi and Alexandra from REGINA/ Blitzstein. Solo symphonic performances include CARMINA BURANA with Wilfrid Laurier University and MOTUS O Company, SYMPHONY No.3/ Gorecki with Waterloo Collegiate Institute String Orchestra, and guest soloist with the Durham Philharmonic Choir, Nuance, and Manitoba Opera House. Brittany won the Concerto Competition at Laurier, and was a scholarship winner in the Lois Marshall Competition, Ontario Zone Competition, Keith Knights Memorial Scholarship and was Honourable Mention at the Ontario Kiwanis Provincials. An Honours Bachelor of Music graduate from Wilfrid Laurier, Brittany also holds a diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in voice and piano and attended the Post-Bachelor Artist Program at the University of Manitoba studying with Tracy Dahl and Monica Huissman. Brittany continues to perform within the Toronto region, and is a regular soloist with the Durham Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra. She has also performed with the Elgar Baroque Singers, which marked her first engagement within the United Kingdom.
Jonathan Woodhouse - Countertenor
Jonathan Woodhouse is a Countertenor and Flautist based in Worcester who is in demand as both a teacher and performer throughout the West Midlands and beyond. He began his singing career as a chorister in St Peter’s Church Choir, Brighton before going on to read music at Cardiff University. Whilst at Cardiff, he was a Choral Scholar in the choir of Llandaff Cathedral and a member of the University Chamber Choir. Following graduation, he sang as a Choral Scholar in Wells Cathedral Choir for two years before being appointed Lay Clerk in Worcester Cathedral Choir in 2011. As a consort singer, he has sung with ensembles including Glevum Consort, Ensemble Sine Nomine, Elgar Voices, Armonico Consort and The Exon Singers and has also featured as a deputy with the choirs of St Philip's Cathedral Choir, Birmingham and Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum. He is also becoming increasingly in demand as a solo singer with recent performances including Vivaldi Gloria, Bach Cantata Widerstehe doch der sünde, Handel Messiah, Bach St John Passion, Pergolesi Stabat Mater and Bach Magnificat.
